The Context — The History
Paul addresses Christians tempted to sin because grace abounds. Baptism into Christ’s death breaks sin’s dominion; believers live under grace’s empowering lordship rather than law’s condemning pressure alone.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Romans 6 teaches death to sin through union with Christ’s death and resurrection. Paul concludes that sin must not reign in mortal bodies because believers are under grace, not law as mere master.
