The Context — The History
Morning renewal was precious in a city reduced to rubble where each day began with scarcity and memory of loss. Israel’s liturgy celebrated God’s faithfulness across generations despite present ruin.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Immediately after declaring unfailing compassion, the poet notes fresh mercies each dawn. Faithfulness is not abstract—it arrives daily with light, inviting trust again after night of weeping.
